Carol Ann Ford - portrayed the Doctor's "granddaughter" Susan (Foreman was her assumed last name) from the beginning of the series in 1963 through the end of The Dalek Invasion of Earth (1964).
William Russell - portrayed schoolteacher Ian Chesterton from the beginning of the series through the end of The Chase (1965).
Jacqueline Hill - portrayed schoolteacher Barbara Wright from the beginning of the series through the end of The Chase (1965).
Maureen O'Brien - portrayed Vicki ("just Vicki") from the beginning of The Rescue (1965) through the end of The Myth Makers (1965).
Peter Purves - portrayed American tourist Morton Dill in The Chase (1965) but turned up later in the same story as astronaut Steven Taylor who appeared through the end of The Savages (1966).
Adrienne Hill - portrayed Katarina beginning in The Myth Makers (1965). Katarina met her death by self-sacrifice in The Dalek Masterplan (1965).
Jean Marsh - portrayed Sara Kingdom in the story The Dalek Masterplan (1965-1966). Jean was once married to Jon Pertwee.
Jackie Lane - portrayed Dodo (Dorothea) Chaplet from the end of The Massacre (1966) through the middle of The War Machines.
Anneke Wills - portrayed Polly (Wright) from the beginning of The War Machines (1966) through the end of The Faceless Ones (1967).
Michael Craze - portrayed Ben Jackson from the beginning of "The War Machines" (1966) through the end of "The Faceless Ones" (1967).
Frazer Hines - portrayed the Scottish lad Jamie McCrimmon from the beginning of "The Highlanders" (1966) through the end of "The War Games" (1969).
Deborah Watling - portrayed Victoria Waterfield from the beginning of "The Evil of the Daleks" (1967) through the end of "Fury From the Deep" (1968).
Wendy Padbury - portrayed Zoe Herriot from the beginning of The Wheel in Space (1968) through the end of The War Games (1969).
Caroline John - portrayed scientist Liz (Elizabeth) Shaw from the beginning of Spearhead From Space (1970) through the end of Inferno (1970).

Elisabeth Sladen - portrayed determined journalist Sarah Jane Smith from the beginning of "The Time Warrior" (1973) through the end of "The Hand of Fear" (1976). She also appeared in "K9 and Company" (1981) and the independent video production "Downtime" (1994).
Ian Marter - portrayed Doctor Harry Sullivan from the beginning of "Robot" (1974) through the end of "The Android Invasion" (1975). He also wrote a number of the Target Books novelisations (among other books) before his untimely death (diabetic coma) in 1986.
Louise Jameson - portrayed the savage warrior Leela from the beginning of "The Face of Evil" (1977) through the end of "The Invasion of Time" (1978).
K9 - was originally created by Professor Marius of the Bi-Al Foundation located near Titan (The Invisible Enemy). K9's final appearance on the show was "Warriors' Gate" (1981) although he did get his own show with "K9 and Company" (1981) and made a brief appearance in the 20th anniversary story The Five Doctors (1983). K9's voice was provided by both John Leeson and David Brierly.
Mary Tamm - portrayed the first incarnation of the "Time Lord Romana Romanadvoratrelundar)" from the beginning of "The Ribos Operation" (1978) through the end of "The Armageddon Factor" (1979).
Lalla Ward - portrayed the Princess Astra in "The Armageddon Factor" (1979), a likeness chosen to be the second incarnation of the Time Lord Romana (Romanadvoratrelundar) from the beginning of "Destiny of the Daleks" (1979) through the end of "Warriors' Gate" (1981).
Matthew Waterhouse - portrayed the Alzarian boy Adric from the beginning of "Full Circle" (1980) through the end of "Earthshock" (1982) in which Adric meets an honourable end.
Sarah Sutton - portrayed Nyssa from the planet Traken from the beginning of The "Keeper of Traken" (1981) through the end of "Terminus" (1983).
Janet Fielding - portrayed the Australian air hostess Tegan Jovanka from the beginning of "Logopolis" (1981) through the end of "Resurrection of the Daleks" (1984).
Mark Strickson - portrayed Trion refugee (Vislor) Turlough (Junior Ensign Commander VTEC(9/12/44) from the beginning of "Mawdryn Undead" (1983) through the end of "Planet of Fire" (1984).
Kamelion - made his first appearance in The King's Demons (1983) and was destroyed by his request to the Doctor in Planet of Fire (1984). Kamelion was really a robot, not a human inside a suit. The voice was provided by Gerald Flood.
Nicola Bryant - portrayed American college student Peri (Perpugilliam) Brownfrom the beginning of "Planet of Fire" (1984) through the end of "Mindwarp" (1986).
Bonnie Langford - portrayed Mel (Melanie) Bush from the beginning of "Terror of the Vervoids" (1986) through the end of "Dragonfire" (1987).
Sophie Aldred - portrayed Ace (real name Dorothy known by few) joining the Doctor in "Dragonfire" (1987) and continuing until the end of "Survival" (1989). She is also the longest running companion of Doctor Who.
Daphne Ashbrook - portrayed heart surgeon Doctor Grace Holloway in the made-for-television movie "Doctor Who" (1996).
Billie Piper - portrayed Rose joining the new Doctor in the 2005 season in "Rose" (2005) and continuing until the end of "Doomsday" (2006).
Freema Agyeman - protrayed Martha Jones joining the Doctor in the episode "Smith and Jones" (2007) continuing until the end of "Last of the Time Lords" (2007).
Catherine Tate - portrayed Donna Noble who first appeared at the end of "Doomsday" (2006) and in the 2006 Christmas Special Runaway Bride and also appeared in the 2008 season of Doctor Who.
Alex Kinston - portrayed archaeologist River Song who first appeared in the Silence of the Library in the 2008 Season. Even though she appeared only as a character in the show, I felt that due to the innuendoes that she was/is a companion in the Doctor's future. "Silence of the Library" and the "Forest of the Dead" was her last episodes as she died in her future but during the Doctor's past.
